Joe Haldeman

Joe Haldeman has been a leading figure in science fiction ever since he wrote The Forever War in 1975, which became one of the few books to win both a Hugo and a Nebula award. Much of Joe Haldeman's writing is inspired by his military service in Vietnam in 1968-69. A professional writer since 1970, he has been a part-time professor of creative writing at MIT since 1983. While teaching at Iowa State, he became a co-founder of I-Con Science Fiction Convention, and returns to Iowa every year for the convention. The author of many novels including The Hemmingway Hoax and World Enough and Time. Forever Peace won the Hugo, Nebula, and John W. Campbell Awards in 1998, the first such "triple crown"by 22 years! His work has been adapted for the stage and screen, and The Forever War will be a mini-series on The Sci-Fi Channel in 2004. He lives in Florida with his wife Mary Gay Potter-Haldeman who will be attending the convention with him.


David Weber is one of the best selling science fiction writers in America, best known for his Honor Harrington series. Beginning with On Basilik Station, the series chronicles the adventures of Honor Harrington, a space faring Horatio Hornblower. The tenth book in the series, War of Honor has just been released in hardcover. David Weber has a devoted following of fans, who eagerly await his every new book. David Weber collaborated with Steve White to write the Star Fire military SF series, and with John Ringo he wrote the Empire of Man series. With Eric Flint he wrote 1633, the sequel to 1632, which is about modern West Virginians landing in Germany in the middle of the Thirty Years War. He ventured into the fantasy world with Oath of Swords series. David Weber lives in South Carolina with his wife and many cats and dogs.

Eric Larson. If you have attended local conventions in the midwest, and you happen to be a sci-fi media fan, you have probably heard of or have met Eric. Eric has been is fandom since 1980, attending 3 to 4 conventions a year. But what he is most known for are his panels and talks on film and sci-fi media topics. Eric created the convention FilmCon, the only sc-fi /mutimedia convention in the US. It’s primary goal is to educate the convention attendee’s with panels and classes that are taught by professionals and people in their respective fields. Eric has a background in Advertising design and marketing. He has worked on such films as 101 Dalmations, Toy Story, Batman & Robin, and his favorite, the re-release of the Star Wars trilogy and Episode 1. His knowledge and interest on film marketing and design is always brought up in his panels with fun quips and odd little stories that amuse and delite fans.
