FilmCon 4.5

After four conventions in Madison filled with media madness, FilmCon will once again be returning to the Radisson, but this time twice in one year. First FilmCon will be presenting programming at Odyssey Con on the weekend of April 8-10, 2005, which we will be calling FilmCon 4.5. We will be sharing our space, and giving the fans a chance to see and attend both conventions with parallel tracks of programming. Then in the November 2005 we will have FilmCon 5! But I don't want to get ahead of myself, let's talk about 4.5. . . . FilmCon has prided itself on many things. For one we are an educational convention. 90% of all the panels are geared towards learning something about film making, costume design, art direction, etc. . . and the list goes on. But we also have a lot of fun. Last year was no exception, 20% of the entire convention was in the costume contest. We also have a repeat rate of close to 85% of attending members. Many fans make the trek every year. What we try to do is show what an individual working in film and video can do, from making films to sci-fi/fantasy design. This convention is created for people who love media, in all forms. We also raise money for a charity. The Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation is a local organization that helps women who have had Breast Cancer and need help in recovery. To this date we have raised over $6000. We do this mostly through gifts and contributions from the fans, including a GREAT charity auction.

Early next year, we will be announcing our special guest of honor who has worked in film and television production. Additional information on our programming will be appearing on the Odyssey Con website.
